EarthSafe School II-Part 1: Barcelona, Spain. June 2025.
The second edition of the EarthSafe School focuses on equipping doctoral candidates with hands-on experience in contemporary exploration methods and frameworks applied in real-world contexts. It aims to address both present and emerging challenges in the field. This program offers a valuable chance for PhD researchers to engage with the non-academic world, consider their broader societal roles, and explore career paths beyond academia — all while contributing to EarthSafe’s mission of transforming fundamental research into meaningful, real-world impact.
To support productive dialogue and learning, EarthSafe School II will center on two key themes:
a) Technical Challenges and the Future of Exploration.
b) Policy and Political Contexts Surrounding Critical Raw Materials and Geothermal Energy.
Our invited experts for the technical talks are:
- Terra Rogers – CATF Program Director for Superhot Rock Energy
- Marcus Haynes – Geoscience Australia, a/g Director Mineral Potential of Australia
- Libby Sharman – BHP, Technical Leader Xplor
- Florian Wellmann – RWTH Aachen University, Leader of CG3 Group
We are looking forward to seeing all of you in Barcelona!
